I Have Loved You

This is a poem I gave K.J. the night we said I love you... :)

I loved you before I knew you,

Before the first sunset met the sea

Before the color's whirlwind caught my breath,

As God painted visions of thee

I loved you before I knew you,

Before my lungs breathed springtime scent

Before the sweet wind's gentle blowing,

Followed everywhere I went

I loved you before I knew you,

Before Adam first loved Eve

Before man felt woman's gentle touch,

And her, man's masculinity

I loved you before the stars were born,

Before they whispered secret dreams

Before Heaven shined bright hope for us,

And covered all man's schemes

I loved you before I knew myself,

Before the earth was brought together

Before my birth, Beyond my death,

I have loved you since forever
